Stolen Cars Recovered With Automated License Plate Readers' Help In Culver City

Two stolen cars were recovered in Culver City over the weekend with the help of automated license plate readers, police said.

CULVER CITY, CA — Police in Culver City recovered two stolen vehicles over the weekend with the help of automated license plate readers, police said Tuesday.

Officers were alerted to the presence of vehicles marked as stolen within the city limits on Saturday through an automated system, the Culver City Police Department said.

Officers recovered the first stolen vehicle on the 10700 block of Jefferson Boulevard near Overland Avenue. One suspect was arrested, according to police.

Two hours later, officers conducted a traffic stop new Sepulveda and Culver boulevards, where they arrested a driver for vehicle theft and a passenger for drug possession, police said.
