22-Year-Old Dies In Crash At Offramp from 405 Freeway In West LA

A 22-year-old man died Monday when his car crashed on an offramp from the San Diego (405) Freeway.

CULVER CITY, CA — A motorist was killed Monday when his car crashed on an offramp from the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in West Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old Los Angeles man died at the scene of the 4:50 a.m. crash at the Venice Boulevard offramp. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

A 20-year-old Los Angeles woman riding in the 2008 Audi A4 was taken to a hospital for treatment of major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

"The Audi was traveling at a high rate of speed and (the driver) was unable to negotiate the curve of the offramp," according to a CHP statement.

All southbound freeway lanes were stopped for a few minutes, and a SigAlert was then issued blocking the offramp for the investigation. The ramp was reopened about 11 a.m., the CHP reported.
