Body Found Off Santa Monica 10 Freeway Embankment

CULVER CITY, CA — A "badly decomposed" body was found on an embankment off of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway Monday, officials said.

The unidentified body was discovered about 2 p.m. off the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway, near Centinela Avenue in the Sawtelle area, according to Sgt. Dustin Dimmer of the California Highway Patrol's West Los Angeles station.

A SigAlert was issued and one lane of the freeway and the Centinela Avenue off-ramp were closed for the investigation.
