Military Equipment Funding, Acquisition, and Use Policy

On September 30, 2021, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill 481 to address the funding, acquisition, and use of military equipment by law enforcement agencies in California. Please note, the Culver City police Department has not obtained, nor does it utilize, any equipment procured from the military, or the United States Department of Defense Law Enforcement Support Program (also known as the 1028 or 1033 program). Assembly Bill 481 has designated certain equipment as “military equipment,” regardless of whether it was procured from the military or not. For a full list of the Culver City Police Department’s inventory of this military equipment, as defined by AB 481, and to review our draft policy please click here:AB-481-Policy-PDF.pdf(PDF, 22MB)
