Monday Morning Quarterback

(Monday, November 3, 2025)

Once a year our real estate community comes together to participate in our Annual Los Angeles Real Estate Grand Expo. And every year our Grand Expo is the largest, most attended real estate event in Southern California. This Saturday, November 8, our 6th Annual Grand Expo promises to be bigger and better than ever. We already have over 825 RSVPS and we’re still a week away! We are planning on over 1,000 attendees.

The Grand Expo will be held at the Iman Cultural Center to accommodate the 15 national speakers, the vendor exhibition area (North Hall), and all the attendees (just like you). Best of all, the Grand Expo is FREE to attend. One entire day dedicated to what you love most - real estate investing.

So, for this week’s Monday Morning Quarterback, let’s forego the normal format, and look at some of the special features and speakers that will make this year’s Grand Expo unique…

Our 6th Annual Grand Expo is scheduled for this Saturday, Novembre 8, 2025, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, at the Iman Cultural Center, 3376 Motor Avenue, Culver City, CA. One entire day celebrating real estate investing and you are invited. There will be 15 national speakers, 70+ vendors, and yummy food trucks. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with fellow investors, speakers, vendors and related real estate professionals. The best and brightest, all levels (neophyte to experienced), all in on location, and all during one glorious day. You need their services. You need their products. You need to learn their strategies and techniques. These are the future members of your dream team and your future partners! Attend our Grand Expo and watch your business grow!

Iman Cultural Center

First, let me tell you why we selected the Iman Cultural Center. It is the perfect location for our Grand Expo. Without question, there is no more centrally located large event space in Southern California. And it’s ours for the entire day! A sanctuary for real estate investors on this special Saturday in November. The Iman has established itself as one of California's most dynamic cultural institutions and among the leading cultural venues in Los Angeles. The Iman Cultural Center is guided by the tradition of welcoming strangers and inspired by the democratic ideals of freedom and equality. We have commandeered the entire Iman Cultural Center (including all the halls, and parking lot).

The North Hall will be reserved for the vendors, and the South Hall will be used as one of the three breakout rooms for speakers. Along the eastern side of the parking lot (in-between the North and South Halls), we’re setting up giant circus tents which will be used for breakout rooms for speakers. And along the western side of the parking lot will be food trucks for your convenience. And in the center, a giant circus tent with tables and chairs for networking (and eating). There could not be a more perfect location for our Grand Expo! Thank you to Elham, Fredy and the entire staff at the Iman.

Grand Expo Producers

As you can imagine, no one person (or group) can produce this event alone. It takes a team, and our team is the best! The Grand Expo is a joint effort of the Los Angeles County Real Estate Investors Association (i.e. Lloyd Segal – I’ve heard of him), Sam’s Real Estate Club (i.e. Sam Sadat), and Women's Real Estate Network (Deborah Razo). During the last 12 months, the three of us (and our intrepid team) have worked tirelessly putting this event together. Can you imagine the logistics of assembling 15 speakers from around the country, coordinating topics and dates, and travel arrangements? It is like herding cats! And imagine assembling all the different vendors to display their services and products all in one day and in one location. No easy task. In all modesty, we should receive the “Presidential Medal of Honor” (we’re just not sure the President of what?).

Working with Deborah and Sam has made me truly appreciate how talented these two individuals really are. Sam runs one of the most successful investor groups in the United States for over 20 years (other than LAC-REIA, of course!)! And Deborah runs the successful Women's Real Estate Network (better known as "WREN"). I could not ask for two better, more professional (and funny) partners.

Which reminds me, we’d love your feedback. When you see us, please come up, say hello, and let us know what you like (and dislike) about the Grand Expo. We’d sincerely appreciate your input. (Actually, only tell me the good stuff. If it’s bad, tell Sam.) i.e.

Vendors Expo

No successful real estate investor ever did it alone. Investors are successful because they assembled a team of real estate professionals to help them. And so should you! You need to assemble a "Dream Team" of real estate professionals to help you. In fact, remember my favorite mantra: “The only inexperienced person on your team is you.” Repeat it, over and over. In order to develop your team you need to meet as many real estate professionals as you can as fast as you can. And the best, most efficient way to accomplish this goal is attending our Grand Expo and meeting all of our wonderful vendors and speakers. These are the real estate professionals with services and products you need to be successful.

But do it in person! Enough with telephone calls, emails, and Zoom meetings. The pandemic is over, over, over! Time for you to once again meet people in person. That means up close and personal. Press the flesh, shake hands (or fist bump), and interact with real estate professionals face-to-face. And the best opportunity to accomplish this goal is at our Grand Expo.

This year’s vendor exhibition area will take place in the North Hall of the Iman Cultural Center. We have assembled the finest companies and professionals offering the most important services and products for real estate investors. In fact, it's your “civic duty” to visit every vendor, pick-up their marketing materials, drop off your business card in their fishbowl, and network with them. (But they’ll be busy – so please be patient and courteous.)

Complimentary Private Consultations

One of the super-duper unique features of our Grand Expo is the private, one-on-one consultations with your favorite speakers during our Grand Expo. You can meet the speakers at their vendor tables before and after their presentations. First come - first serve. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Educating – Not Selling

If you’re like us, you hate speakers who spend their time upselling their programs rather than teaching. We understand they need to sell courses (online or live) to cover their expenses, and we certainly respect their knowledge. But geez, can’t they at least teach us something first before selling us their educational materials? Well, this won’t happen at our Grand Expo. We have required each speaker to sign a solemn promise that they’re going to spend at least 90% of their presentations actually teaching us real estate strategies and techniques. Only then, in the final minutes of their presentation, our speakers will explain what programs and materials they have available for those students that want to pursue that subject in more depth. A fair resolution to all involved, don’t ya think!

Food Trucks

Rumor has it that real estate investors get hungry (and thirsty) when they attend Grand Expos. Well, in order to solve this problem, we’re having a parade of food trucks on our parking lot for your enjoyment. Starting in the morning with a “coffee wagon” featuring coffee and pastries, followed by food trucks featuring fast and convenient lunch foods and drinks from different cuisines. Stuff that you can easily carry with you as you walk around. The thing I love about food trucks is that the food is good and inexpensive. Enjoy, but save some for me!

Mistresses of Ceremonies

Every great event needs great MC’s and we’ve got the BEST! These three all-stars will coordinate activities and speakers in their respective tents. They will also welcome you, pass out materials, introduce the speakers, serve you champagne and caviar (you wish!), and otherwise make sure everything runs smoothly.
