Firefighters found one person dead at a homeless encampment fire late Tuesday in Palms, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

PALMS, CA — Firefighters found one person dead at a homeless encampment fire late Tuesday in Palms, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.

Firefighters responded to flames at the homeless encampment around 9:48 p.m. at 9927 West Venice Blvd., near Hughes Avenue, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim's name was not immediately available.
