Pedestrian Killed In Crash In Palms: Police
A vehicle crashed into a pedestrian, killing him late Thursday in Palms, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
PALMS, CA — A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian late Thursday in Palms, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The fatal crash happened about 10:20 p.m. Thursday when the driver of a Kia Soul was heading east on Palms Boulevard and Vinton Avenue when it collided with a man who was crossing the street, police said.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics provided medical attention to the victim, who died at the scene, police said. His name was not immediately released.

The driver of the Kia Soul remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
It is unknown if speed was a factor in this collision, police said. Alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
"Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves," police said. "The public is also reminded that as pedestrians, they should exercise caution when crossing streets, obey traffic lights, cross within marked crosswalks, and obey the rules of the road."
