Police Search For Random La Cienega Stabbing Suspect

The victim was approached from behind and sustained a four-inch stab wound to his forearm.

CULVER CITY, CA — A man suspected of stabbing a victim in the arm in Culver City was being sought Thursday, police said.

Officers responded to the intersection of Helms Avenue and Jacob Street around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday regarding a report of a stabbing a day earlier, according to the Culver City Police Department.

The victim sustained a four-inch wound to his forearm and was taken to the hospital by Culver City Fire Department paramedics, according to a police statement.

Police said the stabbing occurred late Tuesday evening near the 2900 block of La Cienega Boulevard, where the victim was pushed from behind and stabbed by the suspect before leaving the area.

"Believing he was being robbed, the victim ran southbound on La Cienega Boulevard," police said.

The suspect is described as a man between 30-40 years old who is believed to frequent the area.
