Reward Offered In Shooting Death Of Culver City Football Player

"Chyler had an entire life to live until someone viciously cut it short," Janice Hahn said of the 17-year-old killed outside a party.

CULVER CITY, CA — Authorities on Monday announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people who killed 17-year-old Culver City High School graduate Chyler Paton in June.

Paton was fatally shot at around 9 p.m. June 18 outside an end-of-school-year pool party at a home on the 23000 block of Huber Avenue in Torrance. Paton had just graduated from Culver City High School, where he played varsity football.

"Chyler was well-respected, he played football, he played basketball and he ran track," his father Christley Paton told ABC 7. "He was a good kid, smart kid ... never got into any trouble."
