I-680 Shooting Victim Expected To Survive
A man driving north in a Tesla was struck by bullets from another vehicle early Thursday morning.
ALAMO, CA — A man who was shot in the head after pulling off of Interstate Highway 680 in the unincorporated Contra Costa County community of Alamo early Thursday morning is in stable condition and is expected to survive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was driving north in a black Tesla 3 shortly before 12:25 a.m. when his vehicle was struck by a bullet fired from someone in another vehicle south of Stone Valley Road. The victim pulled off the highway at Stone Valley Road when the suspect opened fire again, striking him in the head, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.
He was alert and spoke to CHP officers when they arrived before being taken to a hospital, Barclay said.

The CHP closed all southbound lanes of the highway during the investigation but has not released a description of the shooter's vehicle.
