Danville Hosting First Ever SantaCon

Grab your best red suit and beard and head to Downtown Danville for discounted food, drinks, dancing, and lots of other Santas.

DANVILLE, CA — Santa Claus can't seem to get enough of Danville this season: he attended the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree, he's riding a fire truck around town, and he's coming to the Blackhawk Museum.

But this Saturday, scores of Santas will descend into Danville.

The town is hosting its first ever SantaCon, a festival downtown sponsored by local restaurants in partnership with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District. The community is invited to put on their best Santa or festive holiday costume, and head to the Aracely Lounge starting at 12 pm. There they will receive $35 wristbands, which unlock special food and drink specials along the route.

Aside from wristbands and the $25 afterparty, Danville SantaCon is free, and no registration is needed.

In addition to the Aracely Lounge, participating businesses include Norms, Primos, the Danville Brewing Company, Auburn Lounge, The Peasant & The Pear, and more.

In addition to food and drink, attendees will be able to compete in costume contests, and enjoy an afterparty at Aracely Lounge with DJ Nile and Jeff Straw from 4-8 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts to donate to Pledge to Humanity, an Alamo-based nonprofits encouraging community members to volunteer for good.

If you want to put your Santa costume to further use, Livermore will be hosting its own SantaCon on Dec. 21. See here for a full list of Santa-related fun around the Tri-Valley.
