Danville Schnauzer Named 'Best of Breed' at Westminster Dog Show

A Danville schnauzer won "Best of Breed" Tuesday at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, according to reports.

Further details on Max, a standard schnauzer, from the Contra Costa Times:

• Max advanced into the next challenge in the Working Dog group, but lost in that category to a Portuguese water dog named Claircreek Impression De Matisse.
• The loss meant Max didn't advance to be judged in the Best of Show competition, but his owners were very happy on his accomplishment.
• "We were hoping to win the breed and he did," his owner, John Adiletti of Danville, told the Times. "He ends on a high note. We're absolutely ecstatic."

Top show dogs from around the world compete at the Westminster dog show held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
