Plans Underway For Danville's National Night Out
The annual event promoting police and community partnerships will take place nationwide Tuesday, Aug. 1.
DANVILLE, CA — As summer continues to heat up, plans for Danville's National Night Out are already under way with individual neighborhoods planning everything from barbeques and potlucks to block parties, and residents wishing to have a representative from the Danville Police Department visit their party will need to register with the city by July 24, the city said.
National Night Out, when residents from around the city, along with thousands of others across the country, will turn on their outside lights, lock their doors, and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police, is celebrated by millions of people annually.
The event promoting police and community partnerships, will take place In Danville and across the nation Tuesday Aug. 1.

"This will be the 40th National Night Out event, encouraging community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and relationships with law enforcement," Danville Police said in a news release. "Over the years, Danville neighborhoods have celebrated with various block parties, cookouts and other community events for all ages."
Those planning a National Night out event in their neighborhood can register by July 24 to have a member of Danville Police visit their party by clicking here.

"The time frame requested is not guaranteed," Danville PD said. "Representative visits will be based on calls for service and available resources."
