Preliminary results show that Mark DeSaulnier, an incumbent Democrat, is maintaining a healthy lead in his re-election bid to represent U.S. House District 10, which includes Danville, Alamo, San Ramon, a small part of Dublin, Walnut Creek, Concord, and Brentwood. As of 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, DeSaulnier received 58,703 votes in Contra Costa County, comfortably ahead of his nearest challenger, Republican Katherine Piccinini, who received 15,139 votes. DeSaulnier, a former state senator, assembly member, county supervisor, and city council member, has represented the area since 2015, though it was previously called the 11th district before redistricting.

In the race to represent State Senate District 9, which spans Danville, San Ramon, San Leandro, Hayward, and most of eastern Contra Costa County, Tim Grayson edged out competitor Marisol Rubio. Grayson is a Democrat currently representing the 15th Assembly District, while Marisol Rubio is a current San Ramon City Council member and former director of the Dublin San Ramon Services District. As of 10:26 p.m., Grayson led Rubio 45,264 to 24,142.

In the race for State Assembly District 16, which spans Concord, Walnut Creek, Lamorinda, and most of the Tri-Valley except a small portion of Dublin, incumbent Democrat Rebecca Bauer-Kahan led Republican challenger Joseph Rubay 29,913 to 13,804. Bauer-Kahan is a lawyer and law professor who has been in the Assembly since 2018.

Contra Costa County District 2 Supervisor Candance Anderson is running unopposed.

Contra Costa County voters were solidly in favor (70,219 to 50,786) of State Proposition 1, a proposal to authorize $6.5 billion in bonds to build mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities and homeless housing. Democrat Adam Schiff led the race for the Senate in Contra Costa County, with 52,813 votes, followed by Republican Steve Garvey at 26,185, followed by Katie Porter at 18,689 votes.
