The memories and messages of support and prayers continue to pour in after news of Danville losing one of its community leaders.
Following a tragic accident, Joe McSweeney suffered a head injury and passed away on St. Patrick’s Day. He was 50.
McSweeney was known for his active involvement with Danville Little League, CYO Youth Sports, St. Isidore’s Catholic Church and a number of other East Bay organizations.

My son played baseball on Ryan's team, and met Joe there. We usually talked baseball, and let me tell you, he knew baseball. Always friendly, and I appreciated his insight. My prayers and thoughts to his wonderful family. Ryan, he loved watching you steal bases.
