Man Found Dead in Diamond Bar Area House Fire

An 83-year-old man was found dead at the scene of a fire near Diamond Bar.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — Authorities Tuesday identified an 83-year-old man found dead at the scene of a fire that damaged his house in the unincorporated Westmont area near Diamond Bar.

The fire was reported at about 10:05 a.m. Friday in the 1200 block of West 109th Street, and was extinguished in about 15 minutes, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Juan Narvaez died at the scene, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the fire department reported.
