WM Recognized as Business of the Year by City of Diamond Bar

Diamond Bar City Council acknowledges WM as 'Business of the Year' for its work with the Friends of the Library

At its Board Installation and Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Dec. 5, the Diamond Bar City Council acknowledged WM as Business of the Year for its work with the Friends of the Library. WM’s Teri Muse and Daniel Hernandez accepted the commendation from the Diamond Bar city council members and Friends of the Library.

WM was recognized for their on-going support of the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library through monetary and in-kind donations and volunteer participation.

Accepting the recognition certificate, WM district manager Daniel Hernandez said that on behalf of the company, he was happy to be acknowledged for working in the community.

“WM is always trying to help better the cities we serve – we look for their guidance to offer the help where needed,” he said.

“We’re here this evening acknowledging your leadership, commitment and dedication to teaching our youth to learn and enjoy the wonderment and wisdom accumulated in books,” said Mayor Ruth Low.

Teri Muse, a public sector representative at WM, said, “It’s in our DNA at WM to become embedded in the community, and it’s gratifying to be recognized but the real reward is in seeing children appreciate libraries and books.”
