Alameda County Deputies To Distribute Donated Books To Inmates
According to Almeda County deputies, their department accepted a collection of books Monday from a long-time advocate of justice services.

ALMEDA COUNTY, CA — Inmates in Almeda County will soon have more material to read behind bars thanks to a kind donation to the sheriff's office Tuesday.
According to Almeda County deputies, their department accepted a collection of books from the estate of the late Ilene Weinreb.
Weinreb was a long-time advocate for justice services and programs at the sheriff’s office, the department posted on its official Facebook page.

She served as a member of the Inmate Welfare Fund Committee for many years and provided guidance in the development of the department's parenting programs and classes.
The department's Inmate Services Unit will facilitate distribution of the donated books throughout the Santa Rita Jail for inmates to read at their leisure.
