I am originally from Southern California, and graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS in Business Administration as well as UC Irvine with a Master of Business Administration. I moved to Oakland in 2004 to marry my wife Tamara, and we have 2 children - Kira who has just started college at the University of Arizona majoring in Astrophysics and Optical Engineering, and Will who is a freshman at Dublin High School and is involved in the music and baseball programs there. I have worked in the lighting and electrical industry since my graduation from Cal in 1995, and have had a variety of sales and management roles at companies of multiple sizes.

We moved to Dublin from Oakland in 2014.
3. What brought you here?
I was managing a large profit center for Graybar Electric in Dublin, and we opted to move our family here to give our kids access to a great education and youth programs.
4. How have you been involved in the community?
- Coached Dublin Little League teams for 10 years and served on the board for 8 years, including several seasons as Scheduling Director and Treasurer
- Served on the Board of Directors for our Schaefer Ranch HOA
- Parent volunteer for Wells Middle School and Dublin High School music programs
- Was appointed to serve on Dublin's Fiscal Sustainability Task Force in 2017
- Served on DUSD's Budget Committee 2023-2024
5. What do you feel are some of the biggest challenges facing DUSD?
I think the some of the biggest challenges facing DUSD revolve around continuing to provide a world-class educational experience for Dublin's youth while managing budget challenges. There has been a slowdown in state tax revenues as well as an exhaustion of funds from COVID-19 relief efforts. Recruiting and retaining the best teachers has to be a priority for the district, while still being to provide critical supporting programs to ensure equity for all children.
6. What are your plans for addressing them?
My plan would be to encourage collaboration among all of DUSD's stakeholders - students, teachers, staff, and parents - to be able to set priorities that will guide the staff and board to make decisions.
7. What makes you the best candidate?
I will be the candidate that listens to and addresses ALL of DUSD's stakeholder groups when issues and/or disagreements arise, and use my decades of managerial experience to help come up with the answers that address concerns - keeping the students first in mind.
8. Outside of politics, what do you enjoy doing?
Traveling the world is our family's passion, and we have been fortunate enough to see and learn about so many different places and cultures. Coaching baseball has been a pleasure for the past 10 years, helping my son's teams develop and forging friendships that will last a lifetime.
9. Any other comments?
I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to the Dublin community by helping to support a school district that is focused on the our students and their futures.
