I was born in Oman in 1977 to an American mother, a Peace Corps nurse, and a Tunisian father who taught language arts as part of a mission to improve education in the Middle East. In 1989, my family moved from Tunisia to Texas, where I attended high school and college, studying Microbiology, Information Systems and Business. After relocating to California in 2004, I met and married my wife, Deanna. Together, we own and operate Joya Studios, a business deeply rooted in Dublin. My journey has spanned retail electronics to real estate and fitness entrepreneurship, growing Joya Yoga into a thriving regional operation. As a former Chair of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and a Dublin High School Athletic Booster Club board member, I’m dedicated to supporting our community and its growth.

2. How long have you lived in Dublin?

I have lived in Dublin since 2013.

3. What brought you here?

We chose Dublin for its growing diversity, top-rated schools, and access to beautiful parks and trails, all of which align with my commitment to providing my family with a supportive community that enhances our well-being. Being close to family and selecting a city centrally located in the East Bay, convenient for our current and future

4. How have you been involved in the community?

My community involvement runs deep, both in leadership roles and hands-on efforts. As a Dublin Chamber of Commerce board member for three years, including serving as Chair in 2023, I’ve been dedicated to supporting local businesses and fostering economic growth. Additionally, I serve on the Dublin High School Athletic Booster Club board, where I’ve been responsible for organizing our biggest fundraiser—the annual fireworks sale. If you’ve bought fireworks in the last four years from the Dublin Safeway shopping center, chances are we’ve already met. My commitment to this community is personal, and I’m proud to contribute to making Dublin a vibrant place to live and work.

5. What do you feel are some of the biggest challenges facing Dublin?

Dublin is one of the most dynamic of cities in the Bay Area, centrally located within the East Bay. While our city has seen significant residential growth over the past decade, it's now time to focus on making Dublin a place where residents can live, work, and play. I believe that implementing both the Dublin Downtown Preferred Vision and the East Dublin Specific Plan will be challenging but essential to achieving our vision of long-term growth and transforming Dublin into a well-rounded community.

6. What are your plans for addressing for them?

My experience on the board of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce has equipped me with a unique perspective to offer valuable insights and foster effective decision-making. As we implement both the Downtown Preferred Vision and the East Dublin Specific Plan, I will ensure that commercial development aligns with our promised vision. I'll leverage my regional and national contacts to attract businesses that fit this vision. Additionally, I will prioritize ensuring that any new development is supported by the necessary public service infrastructure. Most importantly, I will make sure our police and fire departments have the tools they need to keep our community safe.

7. What makes you the best candidate?

I am the best candidate for City Council because of my deep commitment to Dublin and my leadership in both business and community service. As a longtime resident and co-owner of Joya Studios, I understand our city’s needs. My experience on the Dublin Chamber of Commerce board and involvement with the Dublin High School Athletic Booster Club keep me closely connected to our community. I’m also honored to beendorsed by Dublin's former mayors Melissa Hernandez and Tim Sbranti, Alameda County Fire Local 55, and County Supervisor David Haubert, which underscores the trust and confidence local leaders have in my ability to serve. I’m dedicated to ensuring balanced growth, aligning development with our vision, and supporting our police and fire departments. My business acumen and strong community ties uniquely qualify me to guide Dublin’s future.

8. Outside of politics, what do you enjoy doing?

I'm a husband and father who loves spending time with my family, whether we’re hiking our beautiful trails, shopping at the local Emerald Glen Thursday farmers market, barbecuing, cooking, or playing guitar together. I have a passion for the great outdoors and enjoy traveling the world, seeking out unique adventures along the way.

9. Any other comments?

Serving my community is of utmost importance to me. If I am honored with your vote for City Council, I promise to listen to my constituents and represent both my district and our city to the best of my ability.
