Motorcyclist Killed In I-580 Accident
A motorcyclist riding on I-580 was ejected from his motorcycle due to a crash with another car and then struck by oncoming traffic.
DUBLIN, CA — A motorcycle rider died Thursday following a fatal collision on I-580, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At around 4:23 p.m., CHP Dublin Area responded to reports of a motorcycle crash on eastbound I-580 east of Eden Canyon Road, about halfway between Dublin and Castro Valley. Police say that a male motorcycle rider was involved in a crash with another car. As a result of the crash, the rider landed in the left lane, where he was fatally struck by an oncoming truck.
The left two lanes of eastbound I-580 were closed for several hours Thursday afternoon, CHP said.

Details about the victim, the truck driver, or the other car involved in the accident are not available as of Friday morning.
