High-Speed Camaro 'Blacks Out' Plates, Escapes From CHP In East Bay At 100 MPH (patch.com) — Drivers in Dublin are being warned after a black Chevrolet Camaro reportedly hit speeds over 100 mph on westbound I-580 between Dublin and Castro Valley before fleeing a CHP traffic stop. The driver used a mechanism to darken or turn off the license plate, and officers are now asking the public for help identifying the vehicle and its driver.

Dublin students win Congressional App Challenge (pleasantonweekly.com) — Dublin’s Emerald High School juniors just won the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for California’s 10th District with an AI-powered app that helps flag early signs of Parkinson’s disease. Their project, Synapse Match, uses surveys, voice samples, and motor tests to give users an accessible first step toward seeking medical care, and could eventually be released publicly if they secure funding.
3. Fremont murder case pleads out; victim slashed suspect's throat before he was killed, docs reveal (mercurynews.com) — A violent Fremont homicide case tied to a 2023 gas station confrontation has now resulted in a 12-year prison sentence handed down in Dublin. Prosecutors accepted a voluntary manslaughter plea after records showed the victim had earlier slashed the defendant’s throat, and a judge will decide restitution for the victim’s family at a March hearing.
4. 13 FBI Missing Persons Cases That Still Haunt California In 2026 (patch.com) — Dublin residents are reminded of the still-unsolved 1989 disappearance of 13-year-old Ilene Misheloff, who vanished while walking home from school in Dublin and is honored each year with a local candlelight vigil and walk. Her case appears among 13 long-running FBI missing-person investigations tied to California, with contact details shared for anyone who might have information.
