2 Arrested For Riding Atop Train In North County

DEL MAR, CA — Two people were arrested after being caught on camera riding atop a commuter train in North County, authorities said.
Deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station responded around 5 p.m. Friday to multiple reports of two people on top of a northbound Coaster train as it was headed toward Del Mar, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Videos of the pair circulated online over the weekend, showing one person walking as the train is moving, while the other appeared to be filming.

By the time deputies arrived, the suspects had climbed off the train and left the area, officials said.
Authorities searched the area and found the first suspect in the 200 block of South Coast Highway 101 and the second in the 300 block of South Cedros Avenue, both in Solana Beach, according to the sheriff's office.

Both suspects admitted to riding on top of the train and were arrested for trespassing on railroad property, officials said. The names and ages of the suspects were not released.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities asked anyone who witnesses suspicious activity near railroad property to call 911, the sheriff's office at 858-868-3200 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
