The Encinitas Fire Department announced Thursday that its firefighters will be on call around the clock at Fire Station #6 in Olivenhain.
The station at 770 Rancho Santa Fe Road has been in service for a year and was operational only from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“We are pleased and proud to be able to offer the community of Olivenhain and the entire City of Encinitas this new level of service that is able to meet the requirements of the vicinity, City and region; today and into the future," Fire Chief Mike Daigle stated in the release.
The station will continue covering the area with two firefighters and one truck.
