Encino Tenants Displaced by Condominium Complex Fire
The fire is believed to have started Sunday night in an attic. No injuries were reported.
ENCINO, CA -- Tenants of a condominium complex were displaced after a fire broke out inside the attic of the building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The blaze inside the four-story Encino Oaks Condominiums complex at 5460 N. White Oak Ave. was reported at 5:17 p.m., LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
It initially was thought to be a microwave fire but firefighters traced the smoke to the rear of the building and then to the attic above multiple units, Prange said.

In the process of putting out the flames, several apartment units were damaged by the fire and smoke causing a number of tenants to be displaced, Prange said.
The department dispatched 71 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the fire in about 68 minutes, Prange said.

There were no reported injuries of residents or firefighters. The Red Cross is assisting displaced tenants with finding shelter, Prange said.
