1 Killed In Car-To-Car Shooting In Fremont: Police Seek Information

A single adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds died at the scene of a car-to-car shooting incident in Fremont, police say.

FREMONT, CA -- Suspects are being sought after a single adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds died at the scene of a car-to-car shooting incident in Fremont, police say.

On June 17, 2022, at about 10:09 p.m. the Fremont Police Department dispatch center received several calls about a shooting that had just occurred at the intersection of Fremont Blvd and Mowry Ave. Callers reported seeing occupant(s) of one vehicle shooting into another vehicle.

Officers responded to the scene and found a vehicle in the center median of the intersection. Inside the vehicle, in the driver’s seat, officers found a single adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers at the scene provided immediate emergency medical attention. The Fremont Fire Department also responded to render emergency medical aid. Despite the efforts of on-scene emergency personnel, the male victim succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene by Fremont Fire Department personnel.

The Fremont Police Department’s Investigations Unit responded and took over the investigation. Detectives are following up on numerous investigative leads. At this point, it is unknown what led to the shooting or who the suspect(s) are, according to the FPD.

A vehicle of interest has been identified as a dark-colored, older four-door, possibly a Mercedes, police say.

The Fremont Police Department is asking for people to get in contact with them if:

  • You were in the area at the time of the shooting and saw something related to the shooting.
  • You have any video surveillance footage that captured any portion of this incident.
  • You have any other information related to this incident.

"Due to the nature of this investigation, no additional information will be available at this time," the FPD said in a statement. "The Fremont Police Department is dedicating all necessary resources to determine what occurred and hold accountable those who committed this act."
