Pedestrian Dies 10 Days After Being Struck By Vehicle

The victim was struck while crossing a major boulevard, according to the police investigation.

FREMONT, CA — A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle earlier this month on Mission Boulevard has died from their injuries, the Fremont Police Department announced.

The collision occurred around 7:40 p.m. on April 15 in the area of Mission Boulevard and Mohave Drive, police said. Officers and Fremont Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a major injury crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Emergency crews performed life-saving measures before transporting the pedestrian to a nearby hospital.

The pedestrian died from their injuries on April 25, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, the vehicle was traveling westbound on Mission Boulevard, approaching Warm Springs Boulevard, when it struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian had been crossing mid-block between Mohave Drive and Warm Springs Boulevard, outside of a marked crosswalk.

Police said the driver was not injured, stayed at the scene, and is fully cooperating with investigators. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.

This marks Fremont’s third fatal traffic collision of 2025, according to police.
