Fremont Young Violinists Give Back to Community. Concert is Free.
Students of Ker Qi Violin Studio perform to benefit Jenny Lin Foundation. Sunday, June 25 at 2 pm in Mountain View. All are welcome.
The 6th Violin Benefit Concert presented by Ker Qi Violin Studio (Fremont) is scheduled for Sunday, June 25, to raise funds for Castro Valley-based Jenny Lin Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting child safety and youth music education in the Bay Area.
The concert features violinists—Kelvin Jou, Steven Li, Michael Liu, Andrew Luo, Chantale Tso, Claire Yang, and Dixon Yang—who attend schools at Fremont Unified School District. They are all students of Mr. Ker Qi, a renowned violin teacher in Fremont. Mr. Qi graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and obtained two Master’s Degrees in Music in the United States. For decades, he has provided rigorous and passionate instructions to students, many of whom have moved on to become excellent musicians and citizens. Mr. Qi also imparts to his students the spirit of giving back to the community and of helping make the world a better place. Through benefit concerts over the years, Mr. Qi's students have raised over $20,000 for various organizations.
This summer our young musicians will once again be accompanied by pianist Dr. Anny Cheng. Dr. Cheng holds a Doctoral Degree in Collaborative Piano from Arizona State University. With her passion in collaborative art, she has performed in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Ireland, Taiwan and USA.
