​Protest At Bay Area Tesla Factory Ends Without Arrests, Police Say

There were no arrests and no injuries to community members or emergency personnel, police said.

FREMONT, CA — A protest Saturday night at Elon Musk's Tesla Motors Center went off without injuries or arrests, Fremont police said.

One of the largest manufacturing sites in California, the factory is Tesla's hub for Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y production, according to the company website.

There were no arrests and no injuries to community members or emergency personnel, police said.

"Protestors using public property for free speech activities are afforded the right to exercise their First Amendment" guarantee of free speech, police said.

Protests have risen against Tesla CEO Musk as he led efforts to cut federal spending through the Department of Government Efficiency and for his support of Israel.

On April 15, demonstrators opposed to the ongoing war in Gaza clashed with police outside the factory and police deployed pepper balls.

Saturday night, drivers were warned of potential traffic delays in the vicinity of Warm Springs/South Fremont BART, South Grimmer Boulevard, Warm Springs Boulevard, and Kato Road.

The Fremont plant was previously a General Motors facility. It later became known as New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., jointly owned by GM and Toyota.

Tesla purchased it in 2010 and retooled it to produce electric vehicles.
