Fremont Mayor, School Bond, City Council Election Results 2024

The latest vote tallies for the recall of District Attorney Pamela Price and a tight school board race.

FREMONT, CA — The Alameda County Registrar of Voters issued a vote count update at 1 a.m. Wednesday, and while local races may change as more Vote-by-Mail ballots arrive and are added to the tally, here is a look at how the contests in Fremont stand.

Raj Salwan has a strong lead over Vinnie Bacon in the race for mayor. More than 4,000 votes separate the pair, while the percentage is 46 to 31.

For City Council, Teresa Keng has a commanding lead in District 1, Yajing Zhang has a strong lead in District 5, and District 6 is a toss-up. Just 41 votes separate Raymond Liu and Teresa Cox.

Fremont Unified School District's Bond Measure M has a strong lead, 62 to 37 percent.
For School Board Area 4, less than 300 votes separate the candidates. Ganesh Balamitran is leading Rinu Nair.

Looking at the Recall attempt of District Attorney Pamela Price, 64.79-percent of voters want her removed from office.

As of September, the California Secretary of State reported that 22,310,352 Californians were registered to vote, which accounts for almost 82.92 percent of the state's eligible voting population.

In Alameda County, 950,534 residents are registered to vote, nearly 84 percent of all residents who are eligible. 59.3 percent of registered voters are Democrats, and 11.74 are Republican, a slight rise from 10.9 percent in 2022.

Alameda County has the fourth-highest percentage of Democrats in the state, behind San Francisco, Marin and Santa Cruz counties.
