Election Results: Alameda County Tax Hikes, Bond Issue

ALAMEDA COUNTY — From City Hall to the White House, Tuesday’s election is crucial. Voters have marked their ballots for their chosen leaders, on tax measures, and proposals that will shape California for generations to come.

There are three Alameda County tax measures up for a vote: V would extend the unincorporated area's 6.5 percent Utility Users Tax through 2033; W would increase the countywide sales tax by one-half cent; X would authorize a $90 million bond to upgrade Alameda County Fire Department stations in unincorporated areas.

More than 934,000 people are registered to vote here in Alameda County, according to the latest voter registration numbers from Secretary of State Alex Padilla's office.

Alameda County has plenty of volunteers to work in the vote centers this year."We had 4,800 people volunteer for the four days; so we have plenty of volunteers," said Tim Dupuis, Alameda County's registrar of voters.
