Carol Marquez 'Loves And Takes Pride In The Community'
This Gilroy native is making a positive impact in the community.
GILROY, CA — Without community leaders, Gilroy wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.
Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.
This submission comes from Ruth Irving, a Gilroy reader who nominated Carol Marquez.
How do you know this community leader?
Taught with her and served in Gilroy Tennis Club board with her.
What does this community leader do?
She puts what is important to the community in all that she does, as an elected council woman and as the President of the Gilroy tennis club. As a native Gilroyan, she seeks the best environment for all who live in Gilroy.
Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
She loves and takes pride in the community where she was raised and also raised her sons (and now grandchildren). She has no ulterior motive for gain, but to have Gilroy grow responsibly with continued recreational facilities, police and fire protection to meet the needs of our growing community.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
She pays attention to what is happening in Gilroy and will stand up for what she believes is for the good of our Gilroy community.
