City of Gilroy Seeks Candidate to Fill Youth Commission Seat
Gilroy seeks a youth between the ages of 12-18 to serve out the rest of a 2-year term, ending Sept. 2018, on the city's Youth Commission.

GILROY, CA -- Know a youth who's either active, or wants to be active, in the community? If so, then the Gilroy Youth Commission could use her or him.
The City of Gilroy is currently seeking a youth between the ages of 12 and 18 to serve out the remainder of a two-year term on the Gilroy Youth Commission that ends in September 2018.
Youth Commissioners provide the Gilroy City Council, Parks and Recreation Commission and city staff with insight regarding youth and teen issues. Youth Commission members have a unique opportunity to work with city leaders, to implement policies, create events and special programs that can positively influence the youth and other members of the Gilroy community.

The 11-member Commission meets once a month, at 6 pm on the second Monday of each month at the Gilroy Senior Center Meeting Room, 7371 Hanna St. Members also participate in special events and on subcommittees.
The City Council is expected to interview applicants at 6 pm Feb. 27 at City Hall in the City Council Chambers, 7351 Rosanna Street in Gilroy. Applicants must be present at interviews to be considered for appointment.

Applications may be submitted by email, mail or in person, and must be received no later than 5 pm Tuesday, Feb. 21.
