Crime Victim Messaging Software Enrolls Morgan Hill Police
SPIDR Tech of Los Angeles has developed a program that gives victims of crimes automatic texting updates on the progress of the cases.
MORGAN HILL, CA — The Morgan Hill Police Department is enrolling in a new software program this week to send text messages to crime victims and maintain communication after initial police calls.
Los Angeles-based SPIDR Tech will allow police to send automated messages to crime victims and cut down on follow-up administrative calls. The department hopes the system will promote trust in police by filling gaps in information.
"Being a victim of a crime is never easy. Victims deserve to know they have been heard and that something is being done," Capt. Emil Kokesh said in a news release.
