Brush Fire Burns Near Pacheco Pass, San Luis Reservoir: Cal Fire

A blaze dubbed the Dino Fire is burning in rural Santa Clara County. It is only minimally contained after two hours, fire officials said.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY — A brush fire burning near the Pacheco Pass and the San Luis Reservoir has expanded to 150 acres and is 10% contained as of 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, according to Cal Fire.

The fire, known as the Dino Fire, first broke out around 3 p.m. Wednesday at Highway 152 and Dinosaur Point Road, according to the agency. Air and ground resources are on the scene, with "significant augmentation" of air and ground resources en-route, Cal Fire said.

Wind and terrain are playing a significant role in the spread of the fire.
