Gilroy is all in for May's Bike to Wherever Days 2024!
May is the bay area Bike to Wherever month. Pledge to ride and keep Gilroy's distinction as the pedal power capital of Silicon Valley!
May is bike to wherever month in the Bay Area. Over the years more cycling and pedestrian infrastructure has been developed within the City of Gilroy. Our community has taken to the trails and streets on two wheels. In conjunction with the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, Gilroy's cycling advocates have some special events planned for 2024. Two energizer stations on May 16th with annual free bike messenger bags and snacks for participants, and one big evening ride in our award winning Gilroy Gardens May 17th. The easiest way to participate is simply to pledge to ride.

Meet fellow cyclists by visiting the Gilroy Energizer Stations on May 16th. City of Gilroy Councilman Zach Hilton will host an energizer station at the VTA Transit Center from 5:30AM to 7:30AM offering coffee, snacks and a 2024 messenger bag to registered riders. Later, the Gilroy Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor an Energizer Station on the levee near Christmas Hill park.

The final event is the the 4th Annual Gilroy Ride the Gardens ride May 17th, 5-8PM. Free tickets are limited and it 'sells' out every year. Bring the family, bring a picnic or snack and make it a special Friday evening. Register here and it will automatically take care of your pledge to ride:

Friendly competition can be fun. In 2023 Gilroy shocked the Bay Area by being awarded the distinction as the City with the most pedal power! Go ahead an pledge and show our neighbors to the north that Gilroy is the place to ride!
