Gilroy Boxer Guerrero Pleads Guilty to Charges after Gun Arrest

Gilroy's biggest star, boxing champion Robert Ghost Guerrero, took a plea deal Tuesday morning in court that will keep him out of jail on guns charges.

Back in March, Guerrero was arrested at JFK Airport in New York for attempting to bring a gun and ammunition through security. The gun was legally registered in California, but not New York.According to KSBW, Guerrero's guilty plea drops the charges down to one disorderly conduct charge.

He will pay a $250 fine, complete 50 hours of community service and surrender the gun. He had faced up to four years on all his original charges.

Legal trouble aside, May 18 is still set to celebrated as Robert Guerrero Day in Gilroy complete with a performance by Santana.

Guerrero lost the biggest fight of his career thus far on May 4 to Floyd Mayweather, arguable the best boxer in the world, in a 12 round bout.
