• Study shows food insecurity highest in East San Jose (sanjosespotlight.com) — A new Santa Clara University study estimates that about 22.6% of Gilroy residents still struggle with food insecurity even after receiving assistance, underscoring a serious need close to home. Researchers found even higher rates in parts of East San Jose, and local nonprofits say limited incomes, high living costs, and access barriers to food banks are driving families’ tough choices about rent, medicine, and meals.
