GILROY, CA — A Gilroy native won $10,000 on the CBS game show “Let’s Make A Deal” earlier this month thanks to some confident thinking.
Dylan Taylor, who attended St. Christopher High School in Gilroy, became the first contestant to win the “speed lock” game on the show, which includes a variety of games for contestants.
Taylor had 20 seconds to unlock three “locks” to win $10,000. He got the numbers on two locks correctly, but couldn’t finish the third in time.

Game show host Wayne Brady offered Brady $2,000 to walk away, or 15 additional seconds to guess the final digit on an eight-numbered lock. He passed on the money, but still couldn’t get the right number.
However, he had one more chance: Take 10 more seconds to guess the number or walk away, still with $2,000.
