Gilroy Police Arrest Suspect In November Homicide

GILROY, CA — A Morgan Hill man was arrested on suspicion of a November homicide in Gilroy.
Nicholas Jose Carillo IV, 20, was charged with murder, attempted murder and assault with a firearm. Two people in a car in the area of Monterey Street and Leavesley Road were shot at on Nov. 24.
One of the victims, 43-year-old Sacramento resident Jorge Barraza, died at the scene. The second was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police did not reveal a potential motive but identified Carrillo as the suspect following an “extensive investigation,” according to a news release.
Carrillo was arrested on Wednesday in the 1800 block of Hale Avenue in Morgan Hill and was booked into Santa Clara County Jail.
