Gilroy Softball Tournament Aims To Raise $10K For Eighth Graders
The goal is to raise $10,000 for students, to help meet the need for "mental health and anti-stress activities."
GILROY, CA — The Gilroy community is invited to participate in the Leadership Gilroy Class of 2021’s “Back the Care Pack” Softball Tournament on Sunday to raise funds for the 900 eighth grade students in the Gilroy Unified School District.
The goal is to raise $10,000 for the students, to help meet the need for “mental health and anti-stress activities,” according to the organization. Leadership Gilroy is a group of community leaders who take part in a 10-month program to develop leadership and team-building skills, including designing a service project.
The softball tournament at Christmas Hill Park will feature 10 teams participating from Gilroy, Morgan Hill and San Martin, and will be attended by over 200 players and guests. Food, raffles and other community resources will also be on hand.

Games begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
Sponsor packages ranging from $250 to $1,000 are still available.
