Gilroy Storm Watch: Look Out for Downed Trees, Wires
Gilroy Police say that Silva's Crossing remains closed, and that several trails in the Uvas Creek Park Preserve also have been closed.

GILROY, CA -- With heavy wind and rains expected to continue in the Gilroy area until mid-to-late afternoon, police are asking residents stay alert and watch for downed trees and wires, and wind-blown debris.
Silva’s Crossing remains closed, and several trails in the Uvas Creek Park Preserve have also been closed. The creek's water levels are being monitored by city staff.
Police are asking people to stay away from the creek, since moving water can be extremely dangerous and could rise unexpectedly.

The city also reports that westbound Highway 152 is closed until further notice between Watsonville Road and Carlton Road due to mudslides.
Sand and sandbags are available at the Gilroy Corporation Yard at 613 Old Gilroy Street. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels.
