Gilroy Woman Struck And Killed Tuesday Is Identified
Police continue to piece together the circumstances behind why the 87-year-old woman was in the roadway in the 800 Block of Fifth Street.

GILROY - An 87-year-old woman struck and killed by a car Tuesday night in Gilroy has been identified as 87-year-old Bruna Goold, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
Police in Gilroy reported that approximately 9:19 p.m. that night, police and fire units were dispatched to the 800 block of Fifth Street on a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
When they arrived, emergency personnel found an 87-year-old female had been struck by a car traveling on Fifth Street.

CPR was initiated, but despite lifesaving efforts, police say the woman succumbed to the traumatic injuries sustained in the collision, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are looking into whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision, according to police.
