Gunfire Erupts After 2 Suspects Enter Gilroy Home: Police

Police said two suspects entered a Gilroy home Monday morning, and at least one shot was fired during the ensuing struggle.

GILROY, CA — A gun was fired after two suspects entered a Gilroy home and were confronted by its occupants, and investigators are searching for the suspects who fled the neighborhood in an SUV, according to police.

Officers arrived at a residence on Periwinkle Drive around 11:40 a.m. Monday to investigate reports of a shooting. According to investigators, the victims said two unidentified suspects entered the home, leading to a struggle where at least one shot was fired. No one was hit by the gunfire, but one victim was injured in the altercation and required treatment for minor injuries, police said.

The victims told police the suspects left the area before officers arrived, driving a light-colored SUV.
