Images: AM/PM Thief Steals From Unlocked Car

GILROY - Gilroy Police are looking for the suspect seen in these images who stole items last week from an unlocked vehicle parked at the AM/PM Minimart on Leavesely Road.

About 3 p.m. on Friday, March 4, the suspect in the photographs drove into the AM/PM parking lot from Murray Ave in a black VW and circled a Gilroy resident's parked vehicle, according to a Gilroy Police Facebook post.

Police say the VW driver stopped, got out of his car, then opened an unlocked door of the victim's vehicle, parked at pump#10, stealing several items.

The black VW is described by police as having tinted windows with a spare tire on one of the rear passenger tires.

The vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Leavesley Rd, according to police.

Investigators say several employees at the AM/PM MiniMart think he's a regular customer, but don't know his name.
