GILROY, CA -- A 19-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of burglary at two locations when police officers allegedly found him with stolen merchandise a few blocks away from a home on the 8200 block of Chiesa Drive.

Officers responded to a residential burglary at 4 a.m. in which the suspect, Timothy Ruiz, made entry through an open side door leading into the garage, police said. Ruiz stole multiple items and fled the residence.

Through further investigation, it was learned that Ruiz was also allegedly responsible for a residential burglary that occurred on Aspen Way the night before.
