Man With Multiple Gunshot Wounds Won't Talk To Cops

The Gilroy shooting victim, a 28-year-old Morgan Hill man, was conscious but unwilling to provide police with information when they arrived.

GILROY - A man found Monday morning on a Gilroy porch with multiple gunshot wounds refused to talk to police about the incident before emergency personnel transported the man to a local trauma center.

Gilroy police say the 28-year-old man from Morgan Hill was found in the 7100 block of Rosanna Street Monday shortly before 10:00 a.m. when police were contacted by a nearby resident, who called the Gilroy PD dispatch center to report a gunshot victim had just shown up at their residence.

Officers say they responded to the Rosanna Street address and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and lower body.

The shooting victim was conscious but unwilling to give officers any information about the shooting, according to a police report.

Officers provided first aid to the man until fire and ambulance personnel arrived.

The shooting victim was transported to a Bay Area trauma center. Police say the injuries were not believed to be life threatening, and that the man was reported to be in stable condition.

Gilroy Police think the victim had driven himself to the location where he was discovered, and say there were no calls of gunshots made to the dispatch center.

Police say no witnesses have come forward regarding this incident. Officers are working to determine the motive for the shooting and to identify whether or not the incident is gang related.
