People are encouraged to bring along a folding chair or blanket and walk from porch to porch, taking in the different performances.

GILROY, CA — Porchfest Gilroy, an event where musicians perform on neighborhood porches, is back in town this Saturday.

In its seventh year, the event is free and billed as family-friendly. It is one of 40 Porchfests in North America and features local musical talent “of all styles,” according to the event website.

The event aims to recognize the “unheard musicians in South County.” People are encouraged to bring along a folding chair or blanket and walk from porch to porch, taking in the different performances.
