• Drones will fly over parts of Central Coast for 3 weeks. Here's where and why (sanluisobispo.com) — PG&E plans to fly inspection drones over power equipment in and around Gilroy this month, aiming to spot maintenance issues before winter storms. The flights, lasting under an hour per location, will focus only on utility infrastructure and not private homes. Residents may notice low-flying drones but should not experience any power interruptions during the work.
   

• San Jose family ran network of brothels earning $1M yearly, prosecutors say (nbcbayarea.com) — Authorities say a criminal network of massage businesses included at least one Gilroy location, where investigators allege commercial sex and human trafficking occurred as part of a countywide operation. A San Jose family and associates now face multiple felony charges after a months-long probe recovered workers and seized suspected illegal proceeds. Residents are urged to use county hotlines to report trafficking concerns.
