Pedestrian Killed While Walking Near Gilroy Premium Outlets
The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and walking on the north side of Leavesley Road when they were struck by a vehicle.
GILROY, CA — One person was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking near the Gilroy Premium Outlets on Sunday night.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was wearing dark clothing and walking on the north side of the 1100 block of Leavesley Road when they were struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction, according to Gilroy police. Gilroy police, Cal Fire and a citizen attempted life-saving efforts unsuccessfully.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.

The Gilroy Police Department is working with the County of Santa Clara Medical Examiner and Coroner’s Office to determine the victim’s identity.
